Thesis concept ; Activity theory + Six Capitals theory applied for sustainable business models in my local town Breda
Many of my articles are based on creative/automatic writing, which means I, as a personality, can be taken over by some other, often much higher, intelligence. I just happen to have the IQ and EQ with the right vocabulary, sensitivities and techniques in place. I say ‘often’ because it would make no sense to write on automatic if you already have the intelligence to write it out yourself consciously, so it is a mixture of conscious writing, research and (sub)unconscious writing. A lot of very fine literature and philosophical endeavors are based upon this method of creativity. Which is probably the main reason why highly artistic individuals have no clue what the source of their creativity is. I would love to flesh this phenomena out more through quantum physics, but that is for another article, and I don’t have a quantum physical laboratory…
Because I am working/playing and focusing on my thesis and the research questions I have formulated, you can imagine that I receive many different insights from all corners of the galaxy depending on how sensitive I tune my receptors. The brain and/or mind is much like a radio station in that it can receive more information/energy depending on how high you tune your antennas/frequencies.
So please keep in mind that it is oftentimes still a work in progress, it could be filled with personal biases I am unaware of, inaccuracy of transmission (Trans-lators are all traitors in that sense) and highly irrational. All though I do my best to minimize all these negatives, stay objective without loosing my temper, so that I can be a clear channel. I am just as likely to make professional mistakes as if I were an electrician who messes up your electronics. I would love to learn more about the nature of channeling and the science of it, because I did not know it had a name when I started my automatic writing adventures. Because I am very visually orientated, I translate the images I receive into words and this strengthens my corpus callosum of what I understand of it. Please keep that in mind while reading. Sometimes I am also channeling parallel realities, aliens or my distant love Luna during automatic writing, so please keep that in mind as well. I am basically saying, let me entertain you, enjoy my writing, reap your benefits, thank me later, and forget the rest..
For if you want to know?
This is my distant love Luna, hermosa isn’t she? Very charming, intelligent and wild indeed, learned a lot from her. I have met her as a puppy, and I hopefully gave her the right dosage of discipline so she wouldn’t consistently chase rubber wheels of taxi’s, which is tempting, I know, but she almost killed herself once in trying, so I had to discipline some wildness out of her, isn’t that what a good dad does? Heck, I don’t know, it made me very patriarchal all of a sudden. Got a lot of inner conflict about the nature of love and freedom there. I mean if you really love someone you set them free right and respect individuality? At least that is one of my versions of love. So after I had invested most of my travel money into trying to import her to the concrete jungle, called The Netherlands, I gave up on alleviating Luna to human consciousness and just let her be wild in her own little jungle (not that animals have any sense of ownership probably) Why import a wild dog into a system which is heavily domesticated? She would get such a culture shock. She would adept and survive, but loose all her distinctiveness, you see, that is such a shame. I do believe dogs, especially Luna, just mirrors her ‘owner’, so she would survive. So I am very glad that I haven’t killed myself yet in my adventures so far. All though it has been a close call sometimes. I also have this tendency to cross streets and chase things without thinking ahead. She basically taught me by mirroring me, not to be a Martyr, so much to learn from dogs. Just because she liked to chase rubber wheels, doesn’t mean I should suffer in what I believe is the right thing to do. I have heard rumors that she is spotted pregnant with many kids, but I doubt it, cause she was already fixed to keep the horny street dogs at bay. I mean, I kinda had to be patriarchal there, otherwise it would mean even more street dogs. To be honest I have no clue how Luna ended…. My bet is that she just enjoyed a wild and happy life until she died. Well, if she really mirrored me in this, then I must thank her that she added my distinctiveness to her own, to show me my weaknesses.
All this ties in perfectly well with my thesis concept later on, cause it is exactly this struggle of alienation from nature and wildness versus pure logic and technology which I seek to combine in harmony through system thinking.
In this thesis concept I want to try to make a synthesis out of the research I have done so far for the social organisation PakhuisB and also formulate some conclusions and suggestions based on my analysis for this social organisation, but also extend it to the more abstract (economic) systems in general. I want to scientifically and poetically show you how shit is probably going to hit our fans right into our eyes so that we feel our individual and collective decisions and adjust appropriately as an individual and collective to propel ourselves into a new Golden age (at least, that is my wishful thinking for it, I am inclined to be positive about it though). It is already and going to be more shitty anyway based upon how far things have developed into more decadence rather then virtue, so why bother trying to save anything of it, right? It’s almost like having to clean a house filled with junkies, why even bother cleaning up their mess? Or why bother treating cancer if it is already wide spread, I would personally rather die then to blow my brains out with chemo and just choose to be done with my life if my body happens to be in such a bad shape. Why bother fighting the parasites out of the body, if the host, our greater body, (planet earth) is already so heavily depleted of natural resources? So yeah, the more you understand the heavy decline of this world and, especially, the alarming rate of it, the more depressive you might become. Keep in mind that this is not my intention, it is simply a story, which is a vehicle that can be used for informational awareness. I do this kind of work because I want to do a deep root cause analysis about why things are the way they are right now, so that we might learn from history, without repeating it in our time and age.
In this dual 3D reality, we simply have limits to growth and prosperity, so it is only a matter of time that this new empire will implode after it has been rising like bread with too much yeast. So by doing some deep root-cause analysis I hope to provide you with a holistic viewpoint on what I think are the causes of the heavy decline of civilization as we know it today, and, afterwards, I try to come up with avenue’s to escape the whole rat race we find ourselves in currently.
And if I may speak for my own generation, I think as a nation, but also extended to the general size of the Westernized, globalized empire of today, why even bother keeping something alive which is doomed to die at this point? Contemporary Western civilization is already progressed into alarming states of cultural, moral and economic decay, so why invest in the same thinking that created the cancer to begin with? Just like the Roman empire, we need to come with better systems to make the lesser obsolete, instead of battling problems with the same thinking that created it.
PakhuisB states that they are a social organisation that wants to connect change agents within the systems or cultural climate of Breda to work for a sustainable future on multiple different themes including; the new economy, the city as a community, new ways of organizing and sustainable city. I focus on the new economy, and I am doing my best to find some interesting answers and insights on how to build the new economy by using system thinking analysis. System thinking would include the other themes in the process of collecting information for the final analysis, and this is basically one of the positive consequences of my ADHD or convergent focus, whatever you want to call such a thing :p I could easily be diagnosed with ADHD if I did not lock myself in the toilet while visiting the charlatans during my youth. However, by learning how to channel your energies, I would argue that ADD and ADHD are just made up Western diseases based on professional shortsightedness, hence why system thinking is mucho importante in coming to definite answers for the daily challenges life serves us at the moment, especially that of ‘continuity challenges’.
PakhuisB consist out of a core team of 5 members which I will keep anonymous on this site. They say that their main focus is to connect the change agents that want to work for a sustainable future in Breda and earn a buck/survive in doing so. So this means that their core-business is characterized by a diplomatic strength, and specifically to connect people/change agents (makes sense that many people in The Netherlands have this strength well-developed, cause haha, as a nation all we can do at this point is trade and do politics for the sake of survival, and export our knowledge and creativity of living beneath sea levels, sharing all kinds of innovative ideas and technologies with the world at large gazing ahead on marijuana steam in our submarines :p
So what I understand of it, this is a common pattern in the rise and fall of civilizations. Whenever the going gets tougher in an empire, and the middle classes start questioning the status quo, you see many David and Goliath stories (elaborate) unfold in a society, a phase in which a lot of heroism can occur due to frustration or the rise of awareness that our current institutions are messing up, or have messed up. Or not, it can also be an incentive for the rise of weaklings and cowards, and, therefore, the rise of hyena packs, left wing politics, populism and a recipe for the new fourth Reich. It is much easier to manage a flock of sheep then it is to manage a flock of wolves, and I am observing that many more individuals and organisations are being a little more rebellious and wolfish, then sheepish in the discovery how manipulated and managed they are through the process of centralized planning, the money press, debt enslavement etc. You see, I am curious how many people are courageous enough to admit the level of coercion that exist in our current economic system. If the government acquired the money by printing it out of thin air, by contract, you can print your own money and pay it back by creating your own currencies (which happened during the fall of Rome) by educating themselves how the economic system really works through enslaving the people through coin manipulation and This can create a common enemy during the fall of a civilization, but I would personally suggest to ignore the so called ‘enemies, or zondebokken as we say in Dutch’ and instead focus upon the solution rather then the problem, cause by either giving the institutes that messed up negative or positive attention, it is still attention. The middle classes are the backbone of a civilization, so when these classes educate themselves Despite that, heroism attracts more business opportunities by the goodwill and network they are creating. So yeah, you can question the validity of their motives and true altruism on itself, if it turns out that their noble intention is equally intended for self-gain, then it is not an altruistic act, but merely a smart business strategy. If it turns out that this heroism is truly an heroic act is an ‘unintended consequence’ due to ignorance or lack of awareness, it is a different case, but I doubt that. There is this saying, and I forgot who said it (I read it in the book ‘Trickster makes this world by Lewis Hyde’, that one can only be an Aristocrat if his belly is filled. One can only learn to unlock the potential of his mind by firstly addressing the most basic needs of the human system (good access to nutritious food, fresh water, proper shelter etc) Except if you become a Yogi, you renounce some of that obviously for the pursuit of higher human needs. So this ties very strongly with a topic I write very often about, which has always been an important ingredient for the fall of civilizations, is that alienation from the wildness of nature causes technological superiority with the expense of instinctual/bodily/natural stability. It is basically the sacrifice of our bodies and nature in the pursuit of more technology and decadence.
However As always, both paths are equally valid from my perspective, but I am interested in the truth when I am doing research, hence my elaboration here. To me this is the subtle difference between ‘conditional giving’ and ‘unconditional giving’. You either become a wealthy businessmen by excelling in trade, negotiation and conditional giving, or you become a wealthy philanthropist by giving without strings attached, and trusting that the universe will conspire to let you thrive throughout life. Both of these paths in the pursuit of prosperity are heavily corrupted in our ‘dark’ ages from my perspective. Business has become a method of maximizing profits at the expense of other capitals (manufactured, intellectual, human, social-relational and, last but not least, natural)
I have written some philosophical articles on this, and if you accept the idea that you always help yourself to evolve, when you help others to evolve, altruism might not exist from a metaphysical point of view. However, it does exist from a physical point of view when you are sacrificing your own individual ego in order to contribute to the needs of your society without strings attached. To me this is true service From by observation the rise of the so called ‘enlightened entrepreneur’ or ‘social entrepreneur’, is a natural one when the state goes bankrupt with less subsidy, and, therefore, the need for more independence. Officially speaking I work for the center of sustainable organizing of Avans higher educational center in this town (which is a very enjoyable, but lonely ride, because this institute has some gorgeous architecture and facilities, but unfortunately, a lot of indoctrinated sentinels who gave up independent thought somewhere in their lives).
The research methodologies I am using are 1. Deep passive observation and active attention 2. Literature (Activity theory) and (Six Capitals; can accountants save the world?) 3. Socratic interview principles 4. Clairvoyance 5. My inner lie detector 7. (the six button is broken, maybe because I eradicated all my demons after Easter?) 8. Testing my assumptions and intuitions 9. Emotional readings. 10. Body language reading (the body does not lie) 11. Remote viewing 12. Accessing Akashic records? (Now, you might say I am a little crazy in my research methodologies to gather information, but quantum physics is proving psychic ability as we speak, so pick your bet here or correct me if I am wrong, either way I don’t really care, this is my experience of life. Besides, lying enlarges the iris of the eye, so you have to be an professional deceiver, be a master of your body, brain, mind and emotions, otherwise I will probably spot it and dissect you down the bone (which is humbling). I am using analytics as well as the other parts of my brain and mind to extract information and gather data in my research trips. So I cannot even tell you what the source of my inspiration is, cause how are you ever going to proof that from a 3D perspective? Maybe you can, but I would like to meet the scientists who can do this, because that will indicate evidence of the soul and greater intelligence.
I don’t have the exact statistics about the following yet, but I guess this is just common sense that ‘many’ individuals and organisations in The Netherlands, especially, the social individuals and organisations are struggling with making ends meet, plus as a nation we live in a national debt off course, which amazes me that so many people experience this as ‘normal’ economics, it is not, money or a method of trade should be intrinsically valuable based on Socratic/Aristotle principles, like for example gold, the element of light or other hard coins and precious metals (or maybe even a cryptocurrency with the new chain technology, which is still a way better option then fiat currency from my view). So if you want to build civilization by using a method of trade, it should fulfill the following criteria;
- Durable- the medium of exchange must not weather, fall apart, or become unusable. It must be able to stand the test of time.
- Portable- relative to its size, it must be easily moveable and hold a large amount of universal value relative to its size.
- Divisible- should be relatively easy to separate and put back together without ruining its basic characteristics.
- Intrinsically Valuable- should be valuable in of itself, and its value should be totally independent of any other object. Essentially, the item must be rare.

Printing more money out of thin air (fiat currency or backing it up with oil) is not a smart move to build a sustainable civilization, it is a recipe for a repeat for the fall of Rome (haven’t we learned from history, there is enough for everyone’s need not greed?). This fiat currency cancer is something that needs to be addressed by the new builders of civilization of my generation. This is a very economic logical and natural effect when the majority of the society is struggling more to making ends meet. When the going gets tougher in life (within the system it gets tougher because the money system is broken) people naturally jump more into survival mode and can cling to radicalism and fundamentalism instead of continuing on the Maslow ladder of hierarchical needs in the pursuit of artistic, transcendental, philosophical, athletic or spiritual pursuits when sustenance is met, however you want to name the higher potentials of being human, this is just how the reptile brain responds to stress (fight, flight, freeze or squeeze). Interesting observation to make here is that many individuals and organisations are acting out from this reptile brain without experiencing a REAL threat. I often write about the distinction between useful navigational/bodily fear versus irrational psychological fear. When you are really under attack you either fight, flight, freeze or squeeze your but, or do it all at once haha :p, but if there is no real threat then you are probably suffering from irrational psychological fears which cannot be solved by providing you with more money, shelter or more food, whatever the thing is you think you need in order to feel safe again. These psychological hang ups need to be addressed from a psychological perspective, not a physical perspective if you want to dissolve them.
When people have less money to spend and when there are less job opportunities it makes sense people shift their focus on basic necessities instead of expensive holidays or reading my awesome philosophy articles. People simply cling more to investing their money in (a false sense of) ‘stability’ instead of risky investments or enjoying art, music, philosophy et cetera. I say ‘false sense’, because how are you going to enjoy all your precious green paper if you don’t feel comfortable and stable within your own body, your own roots? I will flesh out that concept later on. During my research I have found out that social organisations are not subsidized by the central and local government because as a social entrepreneur, you are still an entrepreneur, and, therefore, you need to create your own business case and earn your own buck. Well, this raises, off course, the whole question and dilemma in the current system;
‘How to survive as a social human being or organisation in an economic system that crumbles down little by little without becoming a complete sucker or loose psychopath’? Basically, it is the same question our ancients had in building civilizations, how to walk the middle path?
The short answer comes, off course, from a philosophical corner, namely that ‘death’ is an illusion, and that our souls will continue to ‘live’, and that every ‘problem’ is not really a problem if you have the awareness to see it that way, but this is not satisfying for most, and I understand, facing death, quieting a job, ending an intimate relationship is not fun, but it is a relieve as well, especially when you are suffering in your current life situation. If you are currently suffering in your life situation and you believe you are doing the right thing then that makes you a martyr. What use do you have in this world when you are suffering in your life and haven’t found the right relationship with yourself? Without establishing a good foundation within yourself and your own life you cannot establish a solid relationship with others and the world at large. ‘By learning to love thyself, you learn how to love others’, this is all simple wisdom, but hard in practice.
So the notion of ‘How to survive’ firstly has to do with what kind of belief system you have about the nature of reality, the nature of work and the nature of stability. I know that belief systems are a sensitive topic for most, and I don’t want to impose anything upon anyone, but if you accept the idea that we create our realities consciously or unconsciously through the dominant thoughts, emotions and actions we have, then adjusting your belief systems when necessary turns out to be very important all of the sudden. Personally, I would suggest to readjust your beliefs if you notice that you are suffering in your life outcomes. Off course, not everything can be changed by our beliefs, but we can adjust how we respond on the things we have no influence on.
Having no desires is a little to ascetic for most, and I get it, not everybody wants to be a monk on acid or alkaline. It would solve many continuity issues probably, but it is not for everybody. I also enjoy food, sex (not that I am having much of it currently haha…. the irony of living in a brothel disappointing all those hungry entities here cracks me up every time) and all the pleasures life has to offer, but I do accept the pain that accompanies it, for both the male and the female. Not unlike many who are not taking responsibility for their own desires and instead remain on the psychological level of a child, and, therefore, falling into parasitism for the new generations to come, which I won’t accept, not that I can do anything against it except for doing my best myself. So for many it is a little to quick around the corner of life to accept Eastern philosophy that desire is the root of all evil. There is truth in that, indeed all suffering began when Adam eat the Apple, right Steve? Our reality is filled with temptations, which is fundamentally a great challenge to grow from. However, if we take Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as an example, we see that we need very little material wealth in order to start focusing upon the other needs as high as the transcendental needs. You don’t have to be ascetic in order to experience the higher needs of human potential, but based out of my experience fasting helps with the meditation process. So I flesh out this concept later on, but it simply boils down to the subtle difference of fulfilling ‘lower’ versus ‘higher’ passions. Well now, the middle path is known of showing moderation, cause from a sustainable perspective this creates the least amount of negative effect on others and the environment and because you then focus upon ‘higher passions’, you would probably become highly productive and generous in your works of life. All other choices are just as valid, however, if you consume more food, shelter, water and material goods, there must be an equal amount of production to maintain a stable ecosystem if you want to continue that behavior so to speak. I speak here on an individual and collective level. All this is simple economic wisdom for prosperity in the sense that you produce more then you consume.
Death is a big topic I wanna throw in here, a topic I would like to flesh out a bit more. I am a student of psychology and it does not take a genius to figure out that we go through many different life stages in our lives. So if we follow the natural path of life we will encounter ‘death’ many times during the span of a lifetime. Death can, therefore, also be read as a new beginning point in our lives, on an individual and a collective level. By dying we can embrace a new identity or perspective upon life with new opportunities and challenges. So by letting go of the old identity we enable ourselves to innovate and reinvent ourselves and to continue our lives from a fresh perspective.
Western culture in general seems to have a problem with this, it seems to have a problem with dichotomies in general. It is my statement that this is due greatly to a lack of proper masculine initiation in our youth and the degree of alienation from nature and our roots. If you read the book ‘archetype of initiation’ by Robert Moore, you know what I mean. Rites of passages are crucial for a man to get in touch with his sense of creativity, inner stability, growth, purpose, maturity, focus, emotional control, generosity et cetera. Girls and woman mature more naturally through menstruation pains and the troubles of birth giving what I understand of it, boys on the other end need more guidance with this process to experience the pain and sacrifice of what it means to be alive. Imagine a world without technology, if you want to get meat now you have to kill an animal with your bare hands. Can you imagine the struggle and difficulties that this takes, not just for you, but also the animal? Your wife is pregnant and she creams many daughters will come, which will cost you a lot of money, so you have to hunt in order to survive as a family. You have to bring meat on the table now. These are all things you don’t learn on government funded schooling in which society has become so technological advanced, that you don’t have to learn how to hunt with respect, connection and gratitude for others and nature. This is not something you learn by reading a book about it, you learn it through making mistakes. You cannot learn courage by reading a book, so you kinda have to do something courageous in order to practice this virtue. You cannot become a better person to be around with just by reading books, you kinda have to get out in the world and struggle with it. To me this is one big reason for the decline of civilization and especially the economic system as we know it today; improper male initiation, impotent man, improper role models, a passive generation of men and also the rise of feminism which is actually doing more harm then good in my opinion. Very generally speaking, man became woman and woman became man in the sense that many boys aren’t taught to assert themselves into a constructive trajectory for themselves and their culture and that many girls want to prove themselves worthy in becoming a feminist, risking the danger to get out of touch with their feminine qualities and finding out no man wants them anymore. So basically many men are out of touch with their mature masculinity and many women are out of touch with their mature femininity, which indicates that many people have difficulties in finding the right relationship with their selves, and, therefore, unable to establish a mature relationship with the ‘other’ and ‘all’, if we speak about humanity at large. So this on itself causes a lot of decay in our systems as we know it from my perspective. When individuals haven’t found the right relationship with themselves first and start having families, you create dysfunctional families and co;dependency. This is to no use for anyone.
Whenever I talk to feminists I completely understand the difficulties they have, but by trying to be a man, you are actually investing more energy and attention into the destructive patriarchal systems we are suffering from in Western contemporary culture. You can become the enemy you fight, and we already have enough unnecessary destructive man, so why throw more oil into the fire? I get the anger, but this is why the hero or heroin can become the tyrant during times of regime shifts and rebellion.
Alright back on my serious business/detective persona; It is an interesting question and a hard nut to crack, because it is a ‘wicked problem’. A problem many intellectuals, philosophers, economist, politicians, artists throughout history and our ancients have been pondering on, off course, since every culture had to deal with these difficulties of survival. A wicked problem can have many different kind of root causes, which can be dynamic, hard to pinpoint, flimsy, not consistent et cetera. For the hard core scientists among us, this is very annoying off course. It would be much easier if it just had one root cause that creates the negative effect of ‘not having enough’, but then your consciousness is solely operating on the causal plane without addressing other potential causes for the ‘dilemma’ or ‘problem’. This is why holistic analysis/system thinking, holistic thinking or system design comes looking around the corner. This way of thinking or level of abstraction encompasses all the different factors of a system without loosing oneself in specialization or narrow mindedness. A complex question like this one requires complex, holistic and deep thought to ‘solve it’ (I am not getting paid to teach my ‘professor’ all this, but héh that is the wicked system again, pumping up my philanthropic karma bucket for my kingdom in heaven). So we have to ask intelligent questions in order to receive intelligent answers. Off course, the fear of not having enough is completely different then not meeting your sustenance, which is difficult for Western culture because we are so used to MORE, instead of being content with what you have and create MORE with what you have, instead of extracting and consuming more. The strength of inventiveness is also something you learn by just throwing yourself into the wild and figuring out a way to survive. This consumption based idea is off course not sustainable when you have more consumers then producers in a given society. I also like to consume. I am by all means not renouncing life, but I try to produce more then I consume, cause I know this is simple wisdom for my own prosperity and that of my loved ones, including my love for nature and the planet.
The Netherlands, in it’s history, has been a capitalistic predator trader nation in the sense that it colonized, enslaved, basically, raped and stole, and then sold the goods (including slaves) for more money to other nations, this was our V.O.C. period. This is simply historical fact and that The Netherlands is still steaming ahead on all this old money is really a pink bubble, waiting to explode, or implode in the faces of its civilians, including all the immigrants who also want to procreate and have a life. I mean please be rational, I also have issues sometimes in my own wickedness (or just sucking up that of others because of my pure empathy?), but this system that we live in is doomed to fail, it is really doomed. And instead of investing more fake money into a broken system, we should come up with newer and better systems, something I likely want to partake in, since it is why I am here. A new system will make the lesser obsolete, that is simple fact from a Darwinist evolutionary point of view. Trying to make the current systems better through LEAN management or whatever process enhancements you can think of, is not a sustainable solution and might only work on the short term, not longer term. If we truly want to experience a golden period again in The Netherlands without raping others or becoming a sucker of the other nations, we need to rethink on a system level, not a process level.
Therefore, I have created a visual problem analysis so far (It is a concept I am still working on, not really motivated though, because I feel like a wage slave without a wage).
It is in Dutch, and it is not complete, I would appreciate input though.
As you see there are many different possible causes of such a wicked issue, and I have only pointed out some obvious ones. That being said, I only focus upon the cause ‘that the value is subjective and, therefore, dynamic in nature’. In the Neoclassical thought of capitalism, everything is objectified, even women (I can still feel the pain of being a prostitute in a way, not sure if I have been one or that it is just my pure empathy again, but I can tell, it is not the way to go for a woman, and how you should treat one). This is the danger of objectification, especially if we start objectifying the ‘other’. Well, depending on how you read ‘other’, we can include the plant and animal kingdom as well, since it is proven that these are also sentient beings, capable of experiencing pain, fear and suffering. So this is my critique as well for the Six Capital model. By objectifying the other and by the act of measurement we come short in mapping the ‘value’, and, therefore, cannot include it’s whole value or importance within the economic system. The economic system is dependent upon the ecological system, so by valuing nature from an economic perspective we might fail in objectifying its whole value, and, therefore create imbalances on the long run. There needs to be positive synergy (1+1=3) between the ecological system and the economic system if we want to have a sustainable planet from my view. The book ‘Can accountants save the planet’ talks about hidden costs or unaddressed cost in the sense that environmental and health damage isn’t included in the cost price of a Hamburger for example. If you want to include such damage in the costing price of products and services then it will be a luxury item, not a commodity. I guess the beauty of free will and choice is that when it boils down to the department of health, people will sooner or later figure out their lifestyle choices instead of blaming that the social welfare system is fraud. This is a big reason why I put the word ‘strength’ in my mission for you, because it isn’t easy to be healthy, let alone to be fit in this world, but definitely still possible! I would argue that if people are generally speaking more stable and healthy within their own body and mind, many continuity issues will vanish. However, knowing about the economic system as it is today, also makes it urgent to think about better systems that can replace the old paradigms when shit hits the fan.
There are three questions I am trying to get a concrete answer one;
- What is the added value of PakhuisB for its stakeholders?
- How do you communicate this value to the stakeholders?
- How do you make sure the stakeholders pay a reasonable price/or energy transaction? (Since all money is just energy to begin with)
The goal or motive of these questions is to crystallize and communicate the value proposition for the stakeholders of the social individual or organisation who is contributing to society. It is kinda like the battle between David and Goliath, social individuals and organisations are pretty small in comparison with the status quo that is doing more harm then good (if the status quo is doing more good then harm, I have no problem with the status quo, but if it turns out that these institutions need a re brush, I believe my generation needs to address this, as have always been the case in the rise and fall of civilizations)
Off course, you can question the contribution of many individuals and organisations in this age of decadence, since these times are so wicked that what is profitable in our current system might not be constructive for the individual and collective development if you see it from a greater and longer term perspective. This is the subtle difference between making a discernment in true and false desires and short and long term satisfaction. What you think you want, might not be the thing you need in order to continue walking your path in life and grow significantly. For example; we all like the quick satisfaction of sugar and just like a child does not have the discipline yet to say no to such temptations, are we throughout life tempted on a daily basis to choose between short term satisfaction or long term satisfaction. So from an economic perspective you either become a pleaser, a wage slave or you become an innovator, a builder or something in between that spectrum. Both are equally valid off course, but when it boils down to maximizing joy and happiness and minimizing pain and suffering then we have got to address the psychological hang ups in our society. Freud calls this the difference between short and long term pleasures. For example, many of my generation are settling for mediocrity by following the known path government funded schooling is offering and sacrificing their individuality to please the collective as opposed to crafting their own unique path through the individuation process and then redeeming the society they are brought up in. Both paths are equally valid in the sense that we can learn from it, but if we want to talk economic sustainability and prosperity, we kinda need the rebels, the innovators and out of the box thinkers to help us redesign our culture and figure out a way to prosper again as a nation and catapult ourselves in a new Renaissance period instead of a Fourth Reich (I am exaggerating, but also serious about it :p because who knows what will happen when shit hits the fans in the systems currently in place). From a purely objective viewpoint we can make the statement that many individuals and organisations are more destructive then constructive for their environment which causes self;annihilation and the fall of civilization if the mass of humanity will choose this path.
This is why in system design you have the concept of necessary chaos or chaos theory. I have written articles about this phenomena, but it makes sense that you need a little bit of salt in your bread to make it taste nicely, right? (Alan Watts). Salt is basically poison for the body if you take too much of it, but you kinda need a little poison in order to enjoy life, feel healthy and prosper. The same metaphor I can extend to the economic system. You kinda need the rebels, the entrepreneurs, the tricksters, the artists, the innovators to establish new paradigms that make the lesser obsolete. Death, calamity and chaos do have a function in reality, namely that it stirs things up so that new and better things can emerge from it.
I have shared this concept many times and it is an ancient old concept of individuation. I offer mythological readings of the hero’s journey and myth interpretation for those who are interested, but the following image is potent in the sense that it shows you that it are often the few groups of individuals who are redeeming a society as a whole. Joseph Campbell called this the hero’s journey in his mono myth synthesis. A small group of individuals and groups who are aware of what is going on, what the forks in the road are gonna be and who have the intelligence, creativity, courage, stability to do something to propel a society into a new age.
It is basically the saying ‘that the strong protect the weak’. Well there are limits here off course, since if the highly productive individuals and groups who hold the vision, the Olympic fire for the future are leaving a given society because it is just too messy, then you really got a dirty problem on your hands. Personally, I would leave a society instead of becoming a Martyr, especially if it means I cannot be myself and do the work I want to contribute to my society. I would rather move to a place where people respect who I am, and appreciate the contributions I am offering. So I can go on and on with the hero’s journey and my understanding of it, but that would be a to great of an avenue to take now :p The logic of myth is one of my greatest passions. the culture hero oftentimes knows what has to be done to redeem his or hers society because it knows the strengths and weaknesses of the system and, therefore, knows how to do it better. Throughout his or hers initiations of life, unknown talents have been revealed, boons have been given the hero or heroin to redeem the society. These boons are in the beginning phases oftentimes not accepted by the society cause it indicates the unknown, the new and if people are afraid or threatened by innovation, they won’t partake in the new growth, but likely cling to fundamentalism and radicalism and become full blown borg potential without appreciating the individuality and boons of the culture hero’s and heroins.
So little back on topic, I am going into all directions here since it is a wicked problem, you will get wicked perspectives and answers from me from all corners. I am using Activity theory and the Six Capitals to increase their value proposition, but to be honest, the members of this organisation are simply afraid in some ways, which I have compassion for, since these are no easy times to be alive, fearless and to remain social and giving for the greater whole. It is not easy to do your life work in an economic system that is doomed to hyperinflation on this rate. However, I do have some good suggestions to make to still make it all work pragmatically later on.
So based on what is written above; this also becks the following question?
“What system is truly sustainable? since the participants within that system can always go corrupted, we still have our shadows, life lessons, shortcomings and demons to deal with.”
Depending on how you define ‘sustainability’.
I prefer to define it as follows; A sustainable system is sustainable if the current behavior within the system can be repeated along a span of time without the behavior causing the system to collapse during this span of time.
So by just following this assertion we can clearly see many systems in contemporary society do not hold up to this definition. Many systems are inherently destructive, because the participants within this system are living out of the negative poles of their personality, or simpler said, they predominantly live based on fear. I have written an article about ‘why fear is unsustainable’;
So what economic system can make the lesser obsolete?
Well I think we don’t need to do much seeking to get an answer on this, cause as with many questions and answers, we probably already knew it on a deeper level, and we simply dis-cover it through seeking it. This is what Plato meant with the ‘world of ideas’ and the allegory of the cave. This is why I am often saying that we can now all access the Internet, but what about the Intranet? The subtle intelligence within? Many have forgotten this kind of intelligence, and I have given my reasoning for why this is in the written materials above, keyword is alienation.
Nature has always shown us the most ingenious and productive system of all, ‘spontaneous, random and intuitive intelligence’ rather then conventional, grind working, government funded intelligence, a dynamic, intuitive way of living life fully in the moment, to be a vehicle for greatness, because creativity only springs out of the silence of the moment. Well this is all hard to put into scientific words, but all this stuff can be proven through quantum physics I believe. As children our brains develop greatly through play, discovery and mindfulness and as children we are also productive through play. As children we don’t make sand castles because we want to impress the ladies, we build sandcastles cause we like to build sandcastles. The ladies are a nice side effect, but the inherent drive to create is at least what keeps me going everyday. This is why we have the Chinese proverb; ‘If work becomes your joy, you never have to work a single day in your life’. So if we talk about continuity issues, I would want to make the statement that a large part is about healing our inner child that our education system has tried to kick out of us. I would dare to raise the statement that children are still in touch with quantum physics until they are forced by the authorities to learn about physics. Personally, I am pretty proud on my virtue of non-conformity and disobedience if I notice red alarms in an authority person. Mastery by Robert Greene is a very insightful book how the process of mastery unfolds so to speak. This has nothing to do with career building, but it has everything to do with the pursuit of being really great at something (could be anything really), and the idea that we are all potentially great if we are willing enough to do what it takes to live our potential, not just dream of it.
Only adults are doomed to live in the past or future. The intelligent man, knows this is not true, the rational man objects, because it is the nature of the ratio to reject something like that and divide reality into black and white (future, past and present). I, therefore, also dare to raise the statement that I admire most animals more then humans do. They are still in touch with the majesty, creativity and mystery of this kind of intelligence and all its sensual beauty and creativity. The borg are difficult to love, let me put it like that. Nature does not worry about dying, only people do. So I don’t intend to offend anyone here, I am simply saying that we gotta learn how to unlock the potentials of our bodies, brains and minds, so that even the ‘less able and weak’ among us can do their best in their own unique way to make a contribution to society in their own unique ways. After all, you can’t deny the fact that we are all unique snowflakes in a gazing storm called life.
If a general mass of society can raise their consciousness and unlock the potentials of their body, brains and minds, I believe we don’t need so many systems as we do now in contemporary society. For me a system also indicates a lack of trust that things will turn out just fine. It does require a level of trust to be humble enough to acknowledge our own insignificance and to allow a greater intelligence to step in our lives. However, without proper rites of passages and proper guidance the majority of society cannot unlock their potential and then you need a lot of systems in place to ‘prevent’ crime et cetera to occur, which is economically speaking counterproductive as well.
So that goes beyond what I am doing with my thesis, but it makes we wonder.
How can firstly;
- personal development help us to activate our potential? (I try to share my own personal development, principles and practical knowledge on this website so others can maybe go faster through learning from my mistakes and shortcomings)
- And secondly, how can we learn from the creativity of nature and the planet itself and the mechanism and quantum physics behind it in seeking for better systems and technologies to propel our society forwards instead of backwards in time?
So here I want to conclude with some conceptual conclusions so far;
Firstly, Western culture has this huge dilemma with dying to begin with. It’s all we can think of; ‘how to survive’, which is probably the reason why Western culture is scientifically and technologically advanced, cause the focus lays upon mastering nature and mastering that what nature slowly does perfectly well; to KILL US and put us back in the ground were we came from. Well you can try to do everything within your will power to prevent death to occur by transplanting your consciousness into an android, haha, but in my view you will then suffer greatly, even more then facing the prospect of death. It is still a valid choice to make, to become a borg, cause this planet is a free will zone. If that happens I believe humanity will choose the path of scientific and technological superiority with little philosophical sophistication and great degrees of alienation from nature and probably the decline of nature as we still know it. It would basically become the Matrix as in the movie itself. Heck, The Netherlands does not even have ‘wild nature’ anymore, except for a small island somewhere I believe. However, this path has been a recipe for a fall of civilization as we know it, cause this experiment has already been done by the ancient civilizations that inhabited this planet. By loosing the connection with wildness and chaos of nature, you miss out on the crucial element of chaos in system design.
My suggestion would be, and I know, this is not for everyone, some people want to be a borg, which is fine; Lets see what happens when we embrace the prospect of dying in its fullness and ask ourselves the question ‘How to THRIVE’ rather then ‘How to survive’, since this eradicates the notion that death is terrifying out of the formula. It eradicates the illusion of death, which causes an energy shift in our thinking processes to focus upon pursuits besides only those for the sake of biological continuity. Well now, I dare to raise the statement that when we focus our energy and attention upon this question, we evolve beyond our wildest dreams and imaginations, we focus upon alleviating ourselves to great heights of creativity, productivity, generosity and all the boons of human potential we can think of, which on the longer term also equals high exponential returns of material gain and profit based upon the rule of multiplication and positive synergy (1+1=3). You reap that which you sow, and if you sow with great width, depth and heights, the universe conspires to pay you back twenty fold.
This whole ‘continuity question’ is simply a mind shift, not an actual great problem when you understand and practice the things I have shared in this article. Heck, don’t come to me with continuity issues when you haven’t been taking proper care of your health first! You will never feel secure, creative, potent and stable without being firm and rooted within your health (physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically). It has absolutely no solid rational to spend your health to earn more wealth, to spend it all again on your health. I am living proof that after 3 years and 7 months of writing short stories and articles, I can now come up with creative, entertaining, interesting, insightful and hopefully worthwhile stories in just a matter of seconds (and I have given my mission a duration of 7 years to see how far I come with building this institute from scratch and then readjust my strategies). Besides, I might not earn a lot of money yet with what I am trying to build here, but I am 24 years old so I still have many years to prosper and enjoy from hopefully. By being very inventive, flexible, persistent, grind working, courageous et cetera I believe everyone can do magnificent things. I already had good positive feedback on the thing I am trying to contribute here. As I have shared on my website many times, the human genome is a fascinating DNA with a lot of unlocked potential based from my observations and research. I know many are also handicapped and genetically speaking in a disadvantaged, but even then, if you are capable of doing the best you can be, you will be amazed how far you can kick your potential. I do agree with that the ‘strong protect the weak’, but not when it turns out that the weak are professional victims. My brain has been getting much stronger through only the act of writing and communication, this has nothing to do with mere luck as others might want to suggest. If you study the greats of the past and study and practice books like Mastery from Robert Green or Think and Grow rich by Napoleon Hill, then you might come to the same conclusion that we are all ‘a man playing the fool, a divinity in disguise’. Ralph Waldo Emerson starts kicking in now haha;
Cannot help myself to share his potent message of self;reliance
“Ne te quaesiveris extra.”
“Man is his own star; and the soul that can
Render an honest and a perfect man,
Commands all light, all influence, all fate;
Nothing to him falls early or too late.
Our acts our angels are, or good or ill,
Our fatal shadows that walk by us still.”
Epilogue to Beaumont and Fletcher’s Honest Man’s Fortune
Cast the bantling on the rocks,
Suckle him with the she-wolf’s teat;
Wintered with the hawk and fox,
Power and speed be hands and feet.
